How to Install IPTV on Samsung Smart TV (2026) — Step-by-Step Guide

Samsung Smart TVs run Tizen OS — Samsung’s proprietary platform — which means the setup process is different from Android-based devices like Firestick. You can’t sideload apps the same way, and not every IPTV player is available. But the good news is the Samsung App Store has enough quality options in 2026 that you don’t need workarounds for most models.

This guide covers every Samsung Smart TV from 2016 onwards. From start to streaming takes about 5–10 minutes.

What you need before starting

Best IPTV apps for Samsung Smart TV in 2026

Unlike Firestick where TiviMate dominates, Samsung Tizen has a different set of top apps. See our full best IPTV apps ranking for a complete platform-by-platform breakdown.

IPTV Smarters Pro (recommended for beginners) — Available in the Samsung App Store in most regions. Free, clean interface, supports both M3U and Xtream Codes. The most beginner-friendly option.

Smart IPTV — The most widely used IPTV app on Samsung TVs globally. Excellent EPG and stable playback. Free for 7 days, then a one-time €5.49 activation fee. Best for users who watch regularly and want a polished experience.

SS IPTV — Good free alternative with a clean interface. Slightly less feature-rich than the above two but solid for daily use.

IBO Player — Uses a device code activation system instead of typing credentials directly, which many users find easier on a TV keyboard. Good for less tech-savvy users.

Step 1 — Open the Samsung App Store

  1. Press the Home button on your Samsung remote
  2. Navigate to Apps (the grid icon in the bottom bar)
  3. Select the Search icon (magnifying glass) in the top right corner
  4. Sign into your Samsung account if prompted

Step 2 — Install IPTV Smarters Pro

  1. In the App Store search bar, type IPTV Smarters
  2. Select IPTV Smarters Pro from the results (look for the official app)
  3. If it doesn’t appear, try Smarters Player Pro or SS IPTV as alternatives
  4. Select Install and wait for the download to complete
  5. Once installed, open the app from your home screen

App not available in your region? App availability varies by region and TV model year. Try SS IPTV, IBO Player, or Smart IPTV as alternatives — all accept M3U and Xtream Codes. If none are available, connecting a Firestick to your Samsung TV’s HDMI port is the most reliable workaround — see our Firestick setup guide.

Step 3a — Add your subscription with Xtream Codes (recommended)

If your provider gave you a server URL, username, and password, use Xtream Codes — it loads channels progressively and handles EPG more reliably than M3U.

  1. Open IPTV Smarters Pro → tap Add New User
  2. Select Login with Xtream Codes API
  3. Enter a name for your profile (e.g. “My IPTV”)
  4. Enter your server URL — include the port number (e.g. http://server.example.com:8080)
  5. Enter your username and password
  6. Tap Add User

Tip: Typing long URLs with a Samsung TV remote is slow. Use the Samsung SmartThings app on your phone as a keyboard controller, or email your credentials to yourself and use Samsung’s built-in browser to copy-paste them. See our M3U playlist guide for more on Xtream Codes vs M3U.

Step 3b — Add your subscription with M3U URL

  1. Open IPTV Smarters Pro → tap Add New User
  2. Select Load Your Playlist or File/URL
  3. Enter a name for your playlist
  4. Paste your M3U URL in the URL field
  5. Tap Add User — your channels will load within 30–60 seconds

Setting up Smart IPTV (MAC address method)

Smart IPTV uses a different setup method — you register your TV’s MAC address on the Smart IPTV website rather than entering credentials directly in the app.

  1. Install Smart IPTV from the Samsung App Store
  2. Open the app — it will display your TV’s MAC address on screen. Write it down.
  3. On a computer or phone, go to siptv.eu
  4. Enter your MAC address and your M3U URL
  5. Save the settings
  6. Restart the Smart IPTV app on your TV — your channels will load

Smart IPTV runs free for 7 days. After that a one-time €5.49 activation payment is required at siptv.eu to keep using it. This is a player fee — separate from your IPTV subscription cost.

Step 5 — Configure EPG

If your EPG (TV guide) doesn’t load automatically after adding your playlist:

In IPTV Smarters: Go to Settings → EPG → enter your EPG URL from your provider → tap Save → select Reload EPG. Allow 2–3 minutes for the guide to populate.

In Smart IPTV: Return to siptv.eu with your MAC address → enable the EPG option and enter your EPG URL → save → restart the app.

Step 6 — Optimize for best performance

Switch to ExoPlayer: In IPTV Smarters, go to Settings → Player → change from Native decoder to ExoPlayer. ExoPlayer handles H.265/HEVC streams better on Samsung hardware, especially important for 4K content.

Increase buffer size: In IPTV Smarters, Settings → Player → Buffer Size → set to High (5 seconds). This reduces buffering from brief network fluctuations.

Use Ethernet: Samsung’s built-in Wi-Fi is often weaker than dedicated streaming boxes. Connect your TV directly to your router via Ethernet if you have a cable run available — buffering during peak hours drops significantly. If buffering persists, a VPN can also help — see our guide to using a VPN with IPTV.

Quick troubleshooting

App not in Samsung App Store — App availability varies by region. Try SS IPTV, IBO Player, or Smart IPTV as alternatives.

Channels not loading after login — Check your subscription is active in your provider’s portal. Re-enter credentials via copy-paste, not manual typing.

EPG not showing — Confirm your provider includes EPG support. Manually enter the EPG URL in app settings and force a refresh.

Buffering in the evenings — Connect via Ethernet or use a VPN (set at router level, as Samsung Tizen doesn’t support VPN apps natively).
