Step 1 — Install TiviMate from Google Play
- From your Android TV home screen, open the Google Play Store
- Search for TiviMate
- Select and install it (free version works fine — premium is optional)
- Open TiviMate from your home screen or app drawer
Step 2 — Add your subscription with Xtream Codes (recommended)
- On TiviMate’s welcome screen, tap Add Playlist
- Select Xtream Codes API
- Enter your server URL — include the port (e.g.
http://server.example.com:8080) - Enter your username and password
- Tap Next — channels load within 60–90 seconds
- Name your playlist and tap Add
Step 3 — Add your subscription with M3U URL
- Tap Add Playlist → select M3U Playlist
- Paste your M3U URL
- Wait for the import to complete — large playlists can take 2–5 minutes
- Name it and tap Add

Step 4 — Set up EPG
With Xtream Codes, EPG loads automatically. With M3U, add it manually:
Settings → Playlists → your playlist → EPG → paste your EPG URL → tap Update EPG now.
Set update interval to 24 hours and enable Update EPG on startup.
Step 5 — Optimize TiviMate settings
Buffer size: Settings → Playback → Buffer size → set to 10–15 seconds.
Player engine: Settings → Player → Player Type → ExoPlayer. Handles the widest range of stream formats.
Video decoder: Settings → Playback → Video Decoder → start with Hardware+. If you get black screens on some channels, switch to Software.
Ethernet: Devices like Nvidia Shield and Formuler have built-in Ethernet ports — always use wired over Wi-Fi for consistent 4K streaming.
